Inventec’s business group establishes cross-departmental Technical Committee and dedicated unit to effectively manage issues related to product R&D, design, quality verification, and project management within the business group. In addition to incorporating relevant advanced knowledge and staying abreast of technology development trends, this initiative employs a horizontal operation approach to connect internal and external resources, facilitate project discussions, consolidate resources, provide education and training, and propose improvement measures. Inventec promotes interdisciplinary exchange and management of technology, design, and quality across various units. Furthermore, Inventec actively nurtures R&D talents, enhances R&D capabilities, and strengthens the core competencies of R&D in innovative product design.

R&D History and Plan of AI Thermal Management Technology

Data centers or server rooms are experiencing rapid growth in order to meet the strong demand required by various emerging technologies such as 5G and Internet of Things. In order to ensure high computing performance and high stability, it has become a global trend to adopt energy-saving and high-efficiency cooling solutions. Regardless of the type of server, cabinet, or data center, effective thermal management solutions with highly efficient cooling technologies are essential to reduce carbon footprint and enhance computing performance. Inventec’s AI thermal management technology uses the historical data of the past 20 seconds to accurately predict the trend change after 10 seconds, and use this information for pre-control to achieve precise temperature control and optimize heat dissipation and energy consumption.

Description of Technical Principles

Extracting various crucial features within servers or cabinets and utilizing a deep learning model with multi-variable and multi-step time series, we train and predict the changing trends of temperature or required information for future time intervals. Combining this prediction with algorithmic design, we develop optimal cooling control. The objective is to identify approximate optimal control parameters within a limited search space, aiming to achieve low energy consumption and high efficiency.

Technology Milestones

Inventec is actively engaged in the development of emerging energy-efficient technologies, aiding clients in attaining more efficient data center solutions. Through projects such as "Air Cooling Management Technology" and "Liquid Cooling Management Technology", Inventec has integrated AI deep learning modules to optimize both traditional air cooling and next-generation liquid cooling server and cabinet thermal management technology. This optimization aims to conserve energy and enhance energy efficiency of the data center, thereby promoting the advancement of cloud computing, edge computing, and high-performance computing applications.
