Waste Management

Policy

  • Realize zero pollution and emissions, work diligently on waste reduction, follow environmental protection laws, and continue driving environmental sustainability.
  • Strive for industrial waste reduction and implement environmental protection on factory.
  • Minimize waste output and maximize resources recycling.

Objective

  • Ensure that waste disposal and removal methods comply with local regulations and standards.
  • Implement waste management, classification, recycling, and reduction.

Practice

  • Select a qualified waste disposal company from which a specially assigned person is responsible for monitoring the transportation of waste and treatment method at any time and taking note of the weights.
  • A designated waste area where specially assigned personnel will give assistance for the recycling and treatment of various industrial wastes have been marked at factories.
  • Take the initiative to inspect and audit cooperative cleaning companies and review their factory conditions and license conformity on a regular basis to ensure that waste disposal and removal methods conform to standards.

Waste Analysis Management

Inventec’s waste categories are divided into general waste, hazardous waste, and recyclable waste. We handle waste in an environmentally friendly manner, primarily through methods such as reuse, recycling, incineration, and landfilling, with the goal of minimizing environmental impacts. Additionally, we actively promote waste reduction in all our facilities to decrease unnecessary waste generation and minimize waste through recycling and reuse practices.

TAO Obtained UL 2799 Platinum Level Certificate

Inventec has long been committed to fostering a green and environmentally friendly workspace. TAO continues to promote the UL2799 Zero Waste to Landfill certification. Through the efforts of the project team and the cooperation of all colleagues in the factory, TAO successfully passed the UL2799 third-party external certification in December 2023, achieved "100% waste conversion rate  with 9% thermal recovery from incineration", and officially obtained the highest level "Platinum Level" certificate.

Air Pollution Prevention

Inventec's production processes primarily emit particulate matter, tin and its compounds, and oils as the main components. There are no emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) or sulfur oxides (SOx). Additionally, Inventec does not use ozone-depleting substances (ODS), such as CFC-11, in its product manufacturing processes. To control emissions and prevent environmental pollution, the factory is equipped with dust collectors, process exhaust systems, tin extraction equipment, electrostatic oil mist collectors, and other pollution control devices. Furthermore, emissions are directed through high-level exhaust stacks to minimize their impact on the surrounding environment.

  •  Adheres to local government environmental regulations and has obtained emission permits
  • Regular gas monitoring at plant pipeline discharge points
  • Annual emissions are consistently below permitted limits

Chemical Management

To ensure precise management of chemical safety information and reduce the risks chemicals pose to human health and the environment, Inventec has established relevant management procedures. These procedures include the control of hazardous chemicals and the provision of designated storage areas for such chemicals, which are monitored 24 hours a day. In addition, Inventec conducts periodic educational and training programs to educate employees on the proper use of chemicals and to prevent accidents related to chemical hazards. There were no chemical incidents occurred in 2023.
