Aligning with international automotive standards and meeting customers’ quality requirements

The Product Assurance (PA) Test Lab of Inventec’s Automotive Electronics Business Unit has obtained ISO/IEC 17025 certification - the global standard for the technical competence of calibration and testing laboratories. The certification is issued by the Independent Testing Laboratory (ITL) of DQS Taiwan Inc. (IECQ). The certification ceremony was held today (17th), indicating the commitment of Inventec’s Automotive Electronics Business Unit to pursuing excellence in laboratory technical competence and quality management, with the goal of providing customers with professional testing services that comply with international standards.

ISO/IEC 17025 is a laboratory competence certification standard used to affirm that a laboratory possesses the technical competence, requirements and quality management system to ensure the delivery of accurate and reliable testing, calibration and inspection results. Through this certification, laboratories in the automotive supply chain can demonstrate their capabilities to customers or regulatory authorities. The test reports issued by these laboratories also carry international credibility and can be recognized by other international accreditation organizations, thus lowering trade barriers and facilitating subsequent business activities.

In January 2022, Inventec’s PA Test Lab began working with Integrated Service Technology Inc. to implement the ISO/IEC 17025 management system. The PA Test Lab spent approximately 100 man-days to integrate reference documents with Inventec’s existing document procedures, conduct external tests for electrical and climate-related test comparisons and capability assessments, and enhance self-auditing. All these efforts enabled the PA Test Lab to successfully go through the external review at the end of May 2023, and officially obtain the certification in July of the same year.

Lee, Rui-Jin, Vice President of Inventec’s Automotive Electronics Business Unit, said: “ISO/IEC 17025 certification is not mandatory for in-house laboratories in the automotive market. By formally embarking on this certification path, Inventec intends to demonstrate its determination to enter the automotive electronics sector, indicating that the company has made the commitment to the highest standards in the field of testing and verification for its in-house laboratory.”

Obtaining ISO/IEC 17025 certification marks a new chapter for Inventec's Automotive Electronics Business Unit. Moving forward, the Automotive Electronics Business Unit will continue to uphold the group’s business philosophy of “Innovation, Quality, Open Mind and Execution” and continue to conduct research and development/production in line with international automotive standards in order to meet customer needs and provide high-quality automotive electronic products.
